A Unique and Personalized Design for a PS5 Inspired by God of War

An artist painted a GodofWar-inspired photograph on her boyfriend’s PlayStation 5. God of War was developed by Sony Santa Monica. This PS-exclusive title is fitting for the artwork.

The latest Gods War games, which follow Kratos with his son Atreus are based on Norse mythology. They feature well-known gods Odin, Freya, and Thor. The 2018 game and last year’s God of War Ragnarok received high praise from both players and critics. God of War has been widely praised for its characters and world design, engaging storyline, and immersive gameplay. It may not surprise that it is many gamers’ favorite game.

Chloe Rose was asked by her boyfriend, artist, and YouTuber to paint on his PS5. In December 2013, she uploaded a longer video to her YouTube channel. Later, she uploaded a shorter version to her Instagram page earlier this year. Both videos show her sanding down the PS5 panel. This horrified many console owners. She did this to remove the glossy texture of the paint and create a grip so that it wouldn’t melt. The landscape and mountains of God of War were then painted and sketched by Rose. Rose has painted only one side so far. She is yet to share with her followers if she completed the other side.

Rose, in her YouTube video, stated that she received the PS5 as Christmas gift for her partner. Rose was immediately asked to design a plain white exterior. Rose acknowledged that she was nervous about this project due to how clumsy and awkward she is, but she promised to be gentle while painting on the costly console. Particularly because at the time, the PS5 was hard-to-find.

Rose received praise from many GodofWarfans and PS5 players who saw her work through YouTube and Instagram. Some people expressed an interest in following Rose’s lead and redesigning their consoles. Others gamers had shown creativity in redesigning consoles. For example, this PS5 looked like the PS2.

Fans have been speculating on what next mythological world Kratos could visit ever since the release of God of War Ragnarok. There are many mythologies, including those of Aztec, Celtic, or Egyptian, that have been mentioned. However, it will be interesting to see what Sony Santa Monica comes up with in the future.

Gods War Ragnarok is available now for PS4 & PS5.
